Intellispring wins contract to deploy OC-3 network for HealthFirst Hospitals

February 1, 2005

Intellispring announced today that it has begun deploying Cisco’s DWDM for one of Florida’s largest health care providers. This network is mission critical as it will be the primary backbone for a hospital. Three not-for-profit hospitals—Cape Canaveral Hospital in Cocoa Beach, Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne, and Palm Bay Community Hospital in Palm Bay— form the core of Health First’s family in Brevard County on Florida’s Space Coast. Other services include outpatient centers, the county’s only trauma center, home care, specialized programs for cancer, diabetes, heart, stroke, and rehabilitative services, central Brevard’s largest medical group, three fitness centers, and Medicare+Choice, commercial POS, and commercial HMO health plans. Working together in a seamless system, Health First is devoted to integrating quality healthcare services with state-of-the-art technology. Intellispring will have a direct impact on that state of the art technology.

Intellispring chief optical expert and former Cisco employee, Tom Verrett will lead the design and implementation.
